Summer Weddings

 

I got invited to 5 weddings this summer. While I cannot attend all of them, I still make cards for the happy couples and send them a little gift.

Last Friday Night, I was crafting away and made these. They are all the same layout and design, but I went with the colors of the respective couple’s invitations.

My parents were also invited to 3 out of the 5 weddings, and I made a set of wedding cards for them to give to, but I’ll share those with you  tomorrow.

In all I made 8 cards in about an hour and at approximately $5 a piece at the local card store, I “saved” $40!!! Woohoo. now that makes “cents”! (sorry for the bad pun there)

Riley 1311

We have a great challenge  for you this week at the  Riley and Company blog. This week our challenge hostess is JOY, and she  has challenged us to create a card using Dies or Punches.

I wanted to create a cute birthday card that could either be used for a boy or girl, depending on the occasion. I used  Balloons Riley because I feel it can be used for either.  As for the dies or punches, I used a die for the fence and spellbinders oval for the image.

Well this weekend was certainly a busy weekend. We had a christening to go to on Saturday night and my parents were there as well so It was nice being with them without the rush of schedules, or cooking or cleaning up.

Yesterday we had a friend’s wedding and that was incredibly amazing as well! The food and service were 5 stars and everything was just perfect!!

Today I am sharing with you a card I made for MFTWSC24. I know these card I have been showing are out of order but that seems to be my life right now. Taking it one day at  a time and it’s chaotic.

This Week at the CHO blog we have an inspiration peice.:

I can smell the sunscreen lotion just by looking at this picture.

I took a different approach and made a card with some tropical flowers and the sentiment wishing you sunshine! That’s what  I felt when I saw this picture, all of the sun beating down on me.

PTI Blog Hop

 

Hi everyone! Yep this is the second post for today!

When I saw the inspiration piece for the PTI blog hop, I knew immediately what I was going to do. My stamping mojo revived itself over the last 24 hours and I’ve been on a cardmaking frenzy.

Ever since I got the Tag Sale #4 die, it immediately reminded me of a Christmas ornament. It’s so nice and big and the possibilities are endless. When I saw the inspiration photo I knew right away this is what I wanted to create. I didn’t want to have traditional Christmas colors, and it’s like having Christmas in (July), I mean June!

It can either be a gift tag or a tree ornament!

The 12 weeks of Blog Candy now through Labor Day- Week #2

I’ve been in major spring cleaning mode these last couple of days and started with the most disorganized room in the house- my stamping studio.

I was cleaning, organizing and started to fill a Blog Candy box. So to keep things interesting I’m going to offer small blog candy every Friday or Saturday from now through Labor Day. Let’s enjoy summer a little more eh?

The candy I have is small, but it’s from the heart and it’s stuff that I have not used. So why not share it with someone else that would make good use out of it right?

Now to share a card:

I have a ton, and I mean a lot of weddings to go to this year, and this evening I completed 8 wedding cards and 2 Christening cards. I have already made and given the bridal shower cards at this point.

The card I am sharing today was a bridal shower card that I made on the fly. I had such little time and wanted to think of something quick, so I really just pulled for the materials that I had on hand.  I just used dies and cut out the trellis and the butterflies and just stuck them together.

I’m somewhat back on schedule with my cardmaking. Well let’s put it this way, at least I’m photographing and editing a bit more regularly!

This is the card that I made for this week’s MFT sketch challenge. Their sketches are always fun, and detailed.

I really enjoyed using such a mix of deisgner papers on this card. They are from Lilly Bee and I got them at iheartpapers.com It has a variety of patterns but in colors that coordinate.

I just wanted to share some card candy that I made for a current PTI swap that I am hosting. I used the Tag Its stamp set for this.

I love all the trendy ribbon tags that are popping up everywhere so I decided to make a few of my own!

ScraPerfect Blog Candy!

 

Hi Everyone!

I know the blog has been slightly neglected over the last week, week and a half. I’ve been super busy with work and at home but things shall fall into their regular routine soon!

A few weeks ago I was notified by Amy from ScraPerfect that  I made the Design Team. I was so thrilled because I have already been using some of their products lately especillay the Embellie Gellie. It’s a great little tool to have to pick up bling and place it on your card.

IEmbellie Gellie - Helps you pick up even the smallest of bling and put it exactly where YOU want it.

 

This embelli gellie is incredible and beats picking up tiny bling with tweezers any time.

Crafty H’s Challenge

This post is really late for the Crafty H’s challenge. I was even able to make this card WAY before the deadline, but never got a chance to photograph and post it.

Anyway this week’s challenge at the CHO’s is to make a card using YELLOW, BLUE and GREEN!

Here’s what I came up with:

Ok So I also used a little bit of brown too, but that’s ok.

Riley Challenge: Buttons and Ribbon oh My!

 I sure am ready for summer and am so glad it’s here! I decided to use Bikini Sophie to celebrate the beginning of summer. I used some fun summer paper I had at the bottom of my DP stash and some ribbon and buttons.

I do apologize for the poor photographing skills. I’ve been wrestling with my camera for the last 2 days and for some reason the image comes out so blue.

I had a really good time making this card. I just think i t looks so pretty and I love the fact that I didn’t even have to color it in.

Once again, this was something that I entered into one of the MFT weekly challenges, but it was a few weeks ago and I realized I never posted to my blog.

MFT June Guest Designer Challenge

This is my entry for the MFT Guest Designer Challenge for the month of June. I just want to say that these monthly challenges and weekly sketches, have really pushed me out of my comfort zone at times and made me try new techniques, papers and color combos.

This month’s challenge is to get personal. Well I’m a pretty reserved person, so I played it safe and decided to share a little gift box I made to hold a necklace for a friend. I have enjoyed making these pizza boxes because they are so easy to make, but also because I have tons of designer paper and it’s such a good way to use it. Especially if it’s slightly heavy and if it happens to be double sided, well, then that’s just a bonus.

Above you will see the little gift box on the left, and a coordinating 3.5 x 3.5 card on the right. I decided to tuck the card into the box as an extra little surprise when it’s opened.

Below is what it looks like when it’s opened. I placed the belly band on the right just so that you can check it out.

06/05 Summer: Let the Fun Begin!

It's the first weekend of June and the weather is gorgeous up here on the northeast. Everyone is getting ready for the summer and the fun to begin!

I also experimented with a new product today which I LOVE! It’s called glubers and Cosmo Cricket produces them. It’s such a phenomenal adhesive.

 

MFTWSC???

Since MFT released the Shabby Chic contest, a few months ago, every now and then I go on a shabby chic kick. This was a card I created for one of the MFT weekly challenges. I don’t remember which one,and I thought I had posted this already on the blog and turns out I didn’t!

I LOVE this card! It’s so soft and uses such fun papers. I used the rolled flower die, and the fishtail banner dies all from MFT!

MFTWSC21- Challenge Time

Besides making cards and looking forward to new releases, MFT also makes me aware of how many weeks have passed this year and how quickly time is FLYING!

I’ve been going a little shabby chic more than usual ever since the MFT challenge in April I believe!  I just love at how quick and easy these cards are and how beautiful they turn out.

This typewriter set is a must have. A friend of mine sent some images so I can play along with and without a doubt I will be getting this stamp set!
